Another day, another insult hurled at Vornado by city officials for the “Filene’s Crater” in downtown crossing. In today’s Globe is a hoot of a quote from the BRA spokeswoman: “It’s not the city’s fault that Vornado overpaid for the site … The residents of Boston shouldn’t have to accept blight, while Vornado does nothing, and only cares about protecting its bottom line.”
The report mentions that Vornado is getting offers for the property — just not enough to make back their $100 million investment in the property. Big surprise. Plenty of luxury condo developers are interested.
