Space opening up in the North End?

In the cramped corners of the North End 4 “luxury” condo units could be opening up at 55-57 N. Washington St.

At a recent North End Waterfront Neighborhood Council (NEWNC) meeting representatives for Michelle Holdings LLC, owners of the building went before the NEWNC board and asked for their support for zoning relief to change the legal occupancy of the building.

Owners want to convert the second floor into condos as well as renovate the rest of the building.

Residents questioned the trash issues associated with the building and PARKING issues.
Michelle Holdings LLC representatives said that they may be able to take a few spaces from the valet area of the restaurant for resident parking and that they are ‘trying’ with the trash.

The proposed space includes a two bedroom unit along with three one bedroom units. The second floor was originally used by the now bankrupt, Joe Tecce’s Ristorante and Caffe, as a function room, so there may be a few stray cannoli.
