Boston Real Estate for Sale

The Herald profiles a nice home in Boston’s Jamaica Plain neighborhood.

A developer, the WonderGroup, has transformed a 98-year-old Mansard Victorian in Jamaica Plain’s up-and-coming Stony Brook neighborhood into three stylish condos that feature original refinished wide-pine floors and other details.

Located at 113 Chestnut Ave., the home features a restored exterior that includes clapboard siding, dormers and roof corners. There’s also an original front porch with ornamental brackets and a widow’s walk above.

But workers gut-rehabbed the building’s interior, installing new windows, kitchens, bathrooms, heating and central air.

The WonderGroup has already sold two of the condos, but Unit 3 – a two-bedroom penthouse – is still available for $429,900.

I took a look at this home with a client two weeks ago. It’s really nice, with lots of space and sun. The developer did a wonderful job on the renovation, with great attention to detail.

Ralph Smith of Gibson Sotheby’s Realty has the listing, or contact me for buyer’s agent representation.
