Wellesley College professor and housing expert Karl “Chip” Case is retiring.
Here’s hoping he has a happy retirement, though he faces difficult days ahead (see article for sad reason).
Case’s contribution to the study of housing has been enormous. He helped develop the now famous S&P/Case-Shiller Home Prices Indices, which the entire industry uses to gauge the housing sector’s strengths and weaknesses. He’s also a genuinely nice man, respected by most everyone who has met and talked to him.
Luckily, Case plans to keep monitoring and writing about housing in retirement. And that’s a good thing. We need all the help we can get understanding this industry, especially during these crazy times.
We wish you the best of luck and thank you, Professor Case.
