Citiing preliminary data from the MLS Property Information Network, the Herald is reporting a huge tumble in house sales last month. But there could be a sound explanation for at least some of the decline:
“February was just a bad month for housing,” said Boston-based economist Karl Case, co-creator of the widely followed Case-Shiller Housing Index. “The one caveat is that the weather was terrible. You don’t go out and buy a home when there’s 10 feet of snow in your driveway.”
