On June 22nd, the Museum of Fine Arts will re-open its “Fenway” entrance, re-orientating the museum to take full advantage of Frederick Law Olmsted’s “Emerald Necklace”.

The museum will hold a ceremony this Friday to mark the opening of the newly christened “State Street Corporation Fenway Entrance”. There will be free admission on Sunday, to celebrate the momentous occasion.

State Street donated $10 million toward re-opening the Fenway entrance.

The MFA is coming to the end of its $500 million capital campaign. It ends on June 30, and word is the museum will meet, if not beat, its goal.

An amazing achievement!

(At some point in the near future, the Huntington Ave entrance will close, in order to commence construction and renovation of the East Wing. The West Wing entrance will also close; in the future, only student/school groups will enter through there. Somewhere, I. M. Pei is weeping!)
