Thanksgiving gatherings, politics and wine equal’s trouble
One of our Thanksgiving traditions is to seat around the dining room and have a family discussion.
Yet, one Thanksgiving Day lives in infamy.
Things were going well until my brother got into it with dad over politics, after a few glasses of wine. In all fairness, I may have contributed to the argument, but memories are fuzzy.
The incident caused my mother to ban all political discussions from future family gatherings.
I’m looking forward to tomorrow and our Thanksgiving meal. I know my father loves the Kansas Chiefs and my brother despises that football team.
I’ll start the meal off with grace.
Followed by a question. “Who do you think Pres Trump is rooting for the Kanas City Chiefs of the Dallas Cowboys?
“Please pass the turkey.”
“Does anyone want another glass of wine?”
