Robert Shiller, the famous housing expert at Yale University, tries to figure out where and when the next big market bubble will occur.
Will it be in housing again, perhaps overseas in China? Maybe. The stock markets? Probably not. Commodity prices? Possibly. But Shiller said his favorite “dark-horse” bubble candidate is the market for farmland. Yes, farmland, as investors worry about climate change and increased global demand for food products. Farmland prices have skyrocketed recently.
So if you have a nice old farm house and spread of land in New England, it could be worth more than you think.
