Boston condos for rent
The developer of a proposed 280-unit apartment unit at the Forest Hills MBTA station in Jamaica Plain will next month attend a community hearing to go over its plans for “The Commons at Forest Hills Station.”
The development would be on the former site of a “petroleum product distribution depot.”
No opposition has apparently surfaced yet.
But this is Boston. What’s the over-under odds of someone yelping about replacing a “petroleum product distribution depot” with a new housing complex with ground-floor retail uses?
This could well be the ultimate test to determine how ingrained NIMBYism is within the Boston development culture and mindset. It’s almost like a psychological laboratory experiment. Will the subject in question instinctively express displeasure at the prospect of slight change? Stay tuned for the results.
