The Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce has honored the normally very private Johnson family, majority owners of one of the state’s truly all-time great companies, Fidelity Investments.
Seriously, they deserve the recognition. Think of all the jobs Fidelity has created. Think of the money pouring into the region as a result of Fidelity being here. Think of the Johnsons’ charitable works over the years — and all without hype and massive egos on constant display.
Cynics may have a different opinion. But the Johnsons really are an old-fashioned family dynasty that’s quietly played such a huge and important role in Boston.
