It looks like the end for the ugly and out-dated Howard Johnsons on Boylston Street, near Fenway Park.
Plans have been unveiled for a combination hotel / condominium complex, including retail shops and restaurants.
That block of Boylston is seeing a huge surge in residential development. Do a search on Fenway or Boylston Street, to find past blog entries.
And, the answer to your obvious question is, No.
(S)age said no one should plan on buying a condo in a bid to get a birds-eye view of the action. The tallest part of the development will be pushed back, away from the park toward Boylston Street.
â€œI have had some people tell us that they like just the idea of being next to the ballpark,â€? Sage said. â€œBut they shouldnâ€™t expect (that), â€˜Gee, I will buy a condo and get to see all the baseball games.â€™ Itâ€™s not going to work like that.â€?
