This is a story I heard about a mother and her daughter in their Boston Beacon Hill condo.

One Sunday after mass, a little girl is sitting and watching her mother doing the dishes. She suddenly notices that her mother has several strands of white hair sticking out in contrast to her brunet hair. She looks at her mother and inquisitively asks: “Why are some of your hairs white, mum?”

Her mother replied: “Well, every time you sin or disobey God, one of my mommy’s hairs turn white.”

The little girl thought about this revelation and then asked: “Mumma, how come all of grandma’s hairs are white?”
