Boston Real Estate for Sale

One of the all-time greatest Boston athletes isn’t happy with the use of his image by a video maker and the NCAA — so he’s suing them.

Bill Russell, the former Boston Celtics center, says the two have used his likeness, dating back to his college days in the 1950s, without his permission.

We’re sympathetic to his complaint. Why? The NCAA and media profit way too much off of amateur student-athletes — to the tune of billions of dollars per year. Now they’re going back decades to profit even more off of them? It may be legal. But it’s still wrong.

OK, so this has nothing to do with real estate. But if a Boston-based blog can’t ride to Bill Russell’s defense, then it shouldn’t be called a Boston blog.
