Boston Real Estate for Sale

Single-family home sales increased during the first quarter, 2005, even as sales in the suburbs fell, by as much as 19%, according to statistics reported in the Boston Herald.

Market tracker The Warren Group reported yesterday that 390 single-family houses changed hands in Suffolk County during the first quarter – up 9.55 percent from first-quarter 2005.

Suffolk County includes Boston, Chelsea, Revere, and Winthrop.

Of course, most of the sales in Boston are condos, not single-family homes.

(Quarterly sales increased in Suffolk County, as well, from 875 to 905 condos, or about 3%, during the same time period, according to data I pulled from MLS. MLS won’t have all sales data, only sales entered by members. It will exclude for-sale-by-owners, new developments, etc.)
