Showing resiliency, the Massachusetts unemployment rate has stayed constant over the past four weeks.
Last week, in fact, almost 3,000 previously-unemployed residents found jobs, according to the United States Department of Labor.
MA -2,970 – Fewer layoffs in the service, transportation, and manufacturing industries.
The US unemployment rate dropped, as well.

In the week ending Jan. 19, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 301,000, a decrease of 1,000 from the previous week’s revised figure of 302,000. The 4-week moving average was 314,750, a decrease of 14,000 from the previous week’s revised average of 328,750.
