I’ve noticed as both a buyer’s agent and a listing agent that there aren’t any rules or guidance on how offers get presented and accepted – so it’s up to the listing agents to determine their process. Whether it’s an off-market listing or a home that’s on the open market (MLS) it doesn’t matter. The listing agent can always tweak how they present offers and tilt the table in favor of who they want to win. Yes, there’s a lot of shenanigans being played out in the Boston condo for sale market when it comes to presenting the offers to sellers. Should the DOJ get involved?
