Here’s a blast from the past: The old Digital Equipment site in Maynard is going to be sold off in a foreclosure auction.
The multi-building campus reportedly still has hundreds of thousands of square feet of office and high-tech manufacturing space.
We’ll take them at their word, but a recent drive by the property didn’t exactly leave a favorable impression. It looks like a high-tech version of an abandoned Old West town. The only thing missing are tumble weeds, though other variety of weeds seem to be sprouting up all over the place.
Anglo Irish Bank, once a high-flying commercial real-estate investor in Massachusetts, is foreclosing on the property and is preparing for an early May auction.
