The Harvard Business School is being supported by an Indian conglomerate (yes, really). The Tata Companies made the largest gift in HBS history — $50 million. As Universal Hub reports, the $50 million gifts is being used for a $100 million classroom and dorm project on Soldiers Field Rd.
HBS also announced that it was embarking on a $20 million renovation of the ‘old’ WGBH building on Western Ave. Both announcements were made at the same time and we originally got the two issues confused. Thanks to Adam Gaffin of Univeral Hub for pointing that out. The WGBH building will become some kind of center for entrepreneurship and innovation. In fairness, Harvard owes Allston after leaving a very large empty hole in the ground on the other side of Western Ave. The WGBH renovation will help.
