Boston Real Estate for Sale

According to a new report, there’s a lot of activity being planned for the next six months in Boston for the building of new housing developments that have been stalled for years. And the best news of all is that most of these have passed permitting and neighborhood approval.

The Boston Business Journal reports that projects accounting for 2,000 new rental units will start to break ground between now and April. That’s a hefty building boom while the state is still struggling with an unemployment rate of 8.5 percent.

Work is supposed to start soon, too, on the new condo tower Avalon Exeter, a 188-unit tower to be added to the Prudential Center. Here’s a partial list of what’s being reported:

  • East Pier/Portside at Pier 1 development planned for East Boston: 500 units.
  • A 325-unit residential development in Chinatown.
  • Kensington Place in Chinatown: A 29-story tower, 391 rental units.
  • Waterside Place in South Boston: A 21-story tower, 235 units.
