The Boston Catholic Archdiocese is selling off its now empty Holy Trinity German Church at 136 Shawmut in the South End.
The 26,900-square-foot rectory and church, which are now being marketed by Colliers International, could fetch as much as $4 million. Residential developers, education institutes and arts groups have already expressed an interest in the building, Colliers reports.
