Boston Real Estate for Sale

The HomeGain blog released its fourth quarter survey of homeowner and realtor sentiment. Not sure how good a predictor this info is, but it is interesting to note that Massachusetts real estate pros and homeowners are more likely to think home values will increase in 2011 than many in the country. You can think of it as an optimism index — or pessimism if you’re a glass-half-empty type.

Specifically, real estate agents in Mass. ranked #4 in the country: 17 percent think home values will increase in the next six months. That’s only topped by agent responses in Arizona (19%), Virginia (22%) and Texas (26%). Curiously, homeowners in Mass. are more optimistic than realtors — 29% think home values will go up in the next six months. That’s the second highest in the country, topped only by Virginia.
