They held an auction yesterday in Wayland and, lo and behold, bidders didn’t come close to matching the asking price of $8.3 million for the 28-room mansion.
According to the published reports, the home is now reverting back to the lender, a firm controlled by Suffolk construction chief John Fish, who had apparently loaned money to a friend to build the abode. Bad move.
The auction was intended to recoup Fish’s money. But no luck.
There’s a lesson somewhere in here. Something to do with not mixing business with pleasure.
