The Boston Residential Group has purchased the landmark Home for Little Wanderers in Jamaica Plain and plans to turn the historic site into 200 apartment units with underground parking. The nonprofit group is planning to move to Walpole.
The developer plans to tear down the current structures at the site, saying it would be too difficult to convert current facilities into residential units while complying with building codes. It’d also be too expensive, we suspect.
The nonprofit announced its intention to sell its landmark headquarters last August.
