If you own a Beacon Hill apartment or properties you rent out in Boston, you need to register your apartment rentals with the city of Boston by August 1, 2020.

Good afternoon,

You have rental properties registered with the City of Boston that must be renewed before August 1st, 2020. Failure to renew your registration will result in fines. Starting this year, you can make online payments using your checking account. Please note, for registrations of 10 or more units the online payment is mandatory.

Why you’re receiving this email
If you are renting out properties in Boston, you need to register in our system. You have registered in the past and must renew annually. Your registration(s) pending renewal are listed below with the associated portal login name to use to renew.

You can renew your registration online here.
Don’t remember your password? Reset it here using the login name provided above.

If you have multiple login names, the ISD Housing team can work with you to consolidate. The team can also help you if no login name is shown. Contact us at rentalprogram@boston.gov for assistance.

If you no longer have a rental property, you need to close your account. You can do this right in the rental registration portal (using the username above).

How to renew
When you log on to the account, click the link to Edit, Renew, or Close an Existing Registration, then Search, and then choose the Renew option next to each property. You will have to complete the Renewal process for each property registered individually. Please remember to check the registration details and update any information that has changed since your last renewal. Also, take a moment to click Modify Account on the left-hand side of the screen to make sure your contact information is correct. The renewal process is complete only when the property status says “renewed.” You will receive an email confirming your renewal is complete.

Frequently asked questions
If you forgot your password, reset it here using the login name provided above. Do not create a new account if you already have one. You will not be able to renew existing properties unless you have access to the account used to register them initially and all properties you own or manage should be under one account.

If you sold your property, you must go online and close the registration. Otherwise, it will stay open under your name.

If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at rentalprogram@boston.gov or at 617-635-1010.

Thank you,

The Housing Division
