President Trump’s recent waffling on potential stimulus efforts could have sweeping effects for Boston apartment renters. 

According to a new report from public policy think tank the Urban Institute, about 5.3 million American renter households are dealing with a job loss.

potentially losing a ton of money, are losing money and the number of vacancies are near record highs.

Reuters.com reports that in the second quarter, the national vacancy rate for apartments hit a 22-year high of 7.5%. Real-estate research firm Reis Inc. says that even compared with last year, vacancies are up 1.4 percentage points.

According to MLS Beacon Hill has close to 300 apartments for rent.
