F-a-i-t-h – five letters, which when thrown together, form a word that can both weigh you down or hold you up. For years, faith had held her up and kept her afloat when she thought she would drown as a Beacon Hill apartment renter.

But now, she wondered if she’d given too much power to that word. Had she used it as an excuse not to take charge of her living situation? It wasn’t too late to wonder about that, was it? Reflection was good. She had all the time in the world now. Even if the doctors didn’t think she’d see out the week.
