Just six short years after requests for proposal were issued by the Massachusetts Port Authority, it looks as though the new East Boston development, East Pier Boston, is about to become a reality.

The project was previously known as “Portside at Pier 1”.

The property is being developed by Lennar Urban and Roseland Propeties, out of NYC.

The development will include refurbished docks, a marina and Pier Park.

Located in East Boston directly across the harbor from downtown Boston, the units promise to offer unsurpassed views of the Boston’s skyline. The walkway surrounding East Pier will be 2300-foot extension of the Boston Harbor Walk, which currently runs from Charlestown through the Boston Waterfront.

The eight buildings will encompass over 881,000 square feet, on 26 acres of space, and will include up to 540 condominium units, as planned, as well as a new restaurant, health club, daycare center, community space and approximately 754 parking spaces.

The street address is 29 Marginal Street, East Boston.
