The following are some excerpts from the Massachusetts Association of Realtors web site:

WALTHAM, Mass. – April 13, 2010 – The Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® (MAR) today announced that REALTORS® continue to feel the market has improved over the previous year according to results of the March 2010 Massachusetts REALTOR® Market Index (RMI). For the second month in a row, the REALTOR® Price Index is above 50 points and on the positive side of the 100-point scale.

“Even with record rains in March, members experienced a stronger market than the same time period last year,” said 2010 MAR President Kevin Sears, broker/co-owner of Sears Real Estate in Springfield. “Similar to last month, the vast majority of members who responded to the survey see prices either staying the same or going up over the next 12 months.”

When REALTOR® members were asked if the torrential rains in March negatively impacted any of their transactions, 33% responded that 1-2 of their transactions were impacted and 6% responded that 3-4 of their transactions were impacted. No members responded that five or more transactions were impacted, while 61% responded that the rain did not have an impact at all.
