I had observed a Bluejay bird sitting on a log at the end my property line every morning and then flying to the woods of a vacant lot. It often looked at me, with curiosity, but never came closer.

The vacant lot, with many trees, had nests of several birds. It was where I went for evening walks.

One day, I saw the bird sitting longer than usual and then flying in another direction.

They were flattening the vacant lot for some condominium buildings.
