The Seaport district is already hot.
And now comes new owners of the so-called “Seaport Square” project, near the U.S. Courthouse, vowing to start construction this year on two new 20-story residential towers with retail space included.
Not only that, but the Skanska construction company has purchased some nearby parcels and is planning its own developments, including a possible hotel next to the Barking Crab restaurant.
Not bad. The district can absorb much more development. The city and region need more housing. The economy could use the economic jolt.
