Yesterday I found a condominium for sale in Arlington MA. The condo for sale was described as being within walking distance of Arlington Heights. I know the area well and I knew from the address that it would be more than a mile and a half walk or bike ride, even though I’m not in great shape it was a doable distance for me
I ride my bike at least that far most days to get to the Alewife Red Line T Stop to my final destination Boston Beacon Hill.
Walkable is a vague term. For most people “walkable” is a half-mile or less. For some folks, walkable means a few blocks but I digress. There are a couple of coffee shops and restaurants that are a block away from my house. They would meet most people’s definition of walkable but let’s talk about Boston condos for sale and how Google Maps can assist you.
Google map is a great tool for looking at where a Boston condo for sale is. Use Google street view to see the Boston condo building and what is near it. Sometimes a Boston condo is located near an attraction but it still isn’t walkable to the T and in some cases, a total lack of sidewalks and crosswalks. Driving by the Boston is also a great way to check out the area but is more time-consuming and expensive than using Google Maps.
